A managed package in your org

Funnel Economics Core is a managed package that runs in your Salesforce org. The analysis runs in your Salesforce instance, on your opportunities and in the environment your sales team already works in. Core is the foundation of Funnel Economics; the second module, Strategist, builds on it and is optional. The package's code is compiled: you can neither inspect nor modify it.

What Core requires

Core requires Salesforce Enterprise Edition. You do not need Data Cloud. On the business side, your company sets what is measured against: the opportunity types that are evaluated separately, and two SLA values per stage and opportunity type. SLA Health measures the age of each open opportunity against these two values. The stage win rates come from your own history, not from a market value.

What Core calculates and what Core writes

In your org, Core calculates bEFV, the structural expected value, and a simplified rEFV based on health status. In doing so, Core writes only its own package objects, never standard objects such as Opportunities. bEFV is the same in Core and Strategist. Strategist forms rEFV with measured factors per health band; rEFV and EVL therefore differ between the two. What the quantities mean and how they relate is described on the page How Funnel Economics works.

Dashboards for three levels

Core ships with dashboards for three levels. Executives see target attainment and a comparison of scenarios. The operational level sees teams and regions against their target. Sales reps see their own pipeline. The dashboards show health as the distribution of open deals across the bands, as a count and as an amount. They do not show a BPV per stage; BPV is calculated by Strategist.

AI data transfer in Core: off by default

Core can have the values of a dashboard commented on by a language model, selectable through Agentforce. This AI data transfer is off by default and is enabled per org and per user. Before such a callout leaves your org, the package masks personal values. With Agentforce, Salesforce's Einstein Trust Layer applies on top. The commentary refers to values Core has already calculated.

Strategist: optional and authorised per user

Funnel Economics Strategist is an optional add-on and not active by default. Strategist requires a per-user authorisation that your Salesforce administrator controls and can revoke. The prepared context then passes through a service we operate to the language model you have chosen, with the names of sales reps and opportunities and record links. Strategist's access to Salesforce is read-only. The package's AI switch and permission set do not stop Strategist yet — the server-side check is built but not in force.

Agreements for the way to the language model

Our leg requires a data-processing agreement, which we are preparing. The language model processes the data under your own agreement with the provider. We strongly recommend securing the use of Strategist with an enterprise agreement with that provider, including a data-processing agreement that excludes the use of the data for training. That is a recommendation, not a precondition. Which data are processed where is stated per component on the Security page.

Beta and sandbox

Funnel Economics is entering its beta phase. During the beta, you start by running it against a Salesforce sandbox. A Funnel Economics proof of concept runs in a sandbox of your Salesforce environment. The AppExchange security review is planned after the beta phase. Within the six-month engagement you can migrate into your Salesforce production org; whether and when is for you to decide. Technically, the migration is possible before the AppExchange security review; it does not depend on the review. How the route through the sandbox works is described in the article Software Proof of Concept in a Salesforce Sandbox. The two data paths are explained in detail in the whitepaper Trust Boundary for AI on Salesforce Data.
